Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has declared himself the most experienced and capable presidential aspirant within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general election.

Gossip News Now reports that Amaechi made the statement in a post shared on his Facebook page, where he reflected on his time as governor and the steps he took to restore order and stability in Rivers State during a period of severe insecurity.

According to him, when he assumed office, Port Harcourt and other parts of the state were plagued by rampant crime, kidnappings, and economic stagnation, but his administration was able to restore peace and revive business activities within six months.

Amaechi stated:

“I served as a governor in a state where people were being killed and kidnapped. Robbery was on the rise, and residents couldn’t move freely in Port Harcourt.

Social life was dead, hospitals were struggling, and the only source of comfort for men was their families. But within six months, we drove out the criminals and brought the city back to life.

We encouraged people to return to work, reopen their businesses, and resume their normal lives.”

Highlighting his track record, the former Minister of Transportation emphasized that his leadership experience uniquely qualifies him to tackle Nigeria’s current challenges.

“I am the only aspirant in the ADC who doesn’t just bring experience but has governed a state that faced the very crises confronting our nation today — and we overcame them,” he added.
