Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and National Vice Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Babachir Lawal, has declared that both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will face defeat in the 2027 general elections.

Lawal made the assertion on Saturday while receiving Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, former Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate in Kogi State, who officially defected to the ADC.

He took aim at the ruling APC, describing it as a “haven for fugitives” seeking refuge from ongoing investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

“It is my belief that more patriots will soon join us, even as the PDP self-destructs and the APC becomes a haven for EFCC fugitives,” Lawal stated.

The former SGF accused the APC of electoral manipulation, alleging that the party’s strategy revolves around pre-determined election results rather than democratic competition.

“Their only mantra is to write election results even before the elections begin,” he said.
“This is pure delusion because it will not happen. Nigerians will back us to frustrate any criminal manipulation of the 2027 election results.”

Lawal, however, cautioned that the ADC would not accept every politician crossing over from other parties, warning against individuals who might “contaminate the party’s principles” with corrupt tendencies.

“Not everyone will be accepted into the ADC,” he warned.
“We must ensure that our ideals remain intact and free from the undemocratic habits of their former parties.”

APC Now a Safe Haven for EFCC Fugitives, PDP on Path to Self-Destruction

He has launched a scathing attack on Nigeria’s two dominant political parties, describing the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a “haven for fugitives” escaping from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and warning that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is on a self-destructive path.

Speaking during the reception of Otunba Olayinka Braimoh, former governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in Kogi State who defected to the ADC, Lawal said more Nigerians would soon abandon the APC and PDP to join the ADC’s reformist movement.

“It is my belief that more patriots will soon join us even as the PDP self-destructs and the APC becomes a haven for EFCC fugitives,” Lawal declared.

The former SGF accused the APC of delusion and arrogance, alleging that the ruling party’s electoral strategy rests on manipulating results rather than respecting the democratic process.

“Their only mantra is to write election results even before elections begin,” he said.
“This is pure delusion because it will not happen. Nigerians will back us to frustrate any criminal manipulation of the 2027 election results.”

Lawal, however, cautioned that the ADC would not accept all defectors from other parties, warning that corrupt politicians could erode the party’s principles.

“Not every politician coming from the PDP or APC will be accepted,” he warned.
“We won’t allow them to corrupt our ideals with attitudes imbibed from their undemocratic home parties.”

He described the ADC as a party of visionaries and patriots determined to rescue Nigeria from misgovernance under the APC and PDP.

“Every patriotic Nigerian now understands that our country has reached the edge of a cliff,” he said.
“The ADC offers Nigerians an opportunity to make a U-turn, recalibrate, and redirect our governance toward a progressive, people-centric system.”

Taking a swipe at the Adamawa State Government, Lawal criticized Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration for failing to deliver meaningful development projects in more than six years in office.

“All we get from over six years of PDP governance is a couple of flyovers carrying scanty traffic despite billions of naira accruing to the state,” he lamented.
“Sometimes, I wonder whether the money leaves Abuja for Yola at all.”
