Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has spoken out after allegedly being assaulted by some uniformed officers while preparing free meals for homeless people on the streets of Lagos.
Taking to Instagram, the actress recounted how she was in the middle of her charity outreach — cooking healthy meals for the less privileged — when officers, reportedly from the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) task force, approached and disrupted her activity.
According to Sarah, the officers harassed and bullied her before confiscating her cooking gas, food items, and other supplies she was using to serve the homeless. She also shared a video showing an injury on her hand, expressing deep pain and frustration over the incident.
“My heart aches,” she wrote. “Today, as I was cooking free food for vulnerable and homeless people on the streets of Lagos, like I always do, some uniformed men came, harassed me, bullied me, and took away the food I was cooking — along with my cooking gas and everything I was using. My only offence was serving love on a plate through my healthy meals.”
Sarah emphasized that her actions were purely humanitarian, explaining that she often prepares and distributes free nutritious meals as part of her personal outreach to support the needy.
The actress appealed to authorities to investigate the assault and ensure justice is served, stressing that her only goal was to spread kindness and compassion within her community.
“I am not a chef, and I do not cook for a living,” she added. “I just wanted to share love and hope through food. What happened today broke my heart.”
