Nigerian rapper, Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has revealed that he is comfortable with the idea of an open marriage, saying he does not believe sexual exclusivity defines a successful relationship.

Speaking on a recent episode of the In My Opinion podcast, Blaqbonez explained that many married couples struggle with dwindling intimacy over time because they fail to explore beyond traditional expectations of monogamy.

According to him, marriage is about more than just physical intimacy, and he would not be bothered if his partner sought sexual satisfaction elsewhere when he is unavailable due to work or travel.

“I don’t mind having an open marriage,” he said. “Most married couples don’t maintain the same level of sexual activity they had at the start — it eventually reduces.

If someone is satisfying her sexually while I’m away touring or working, that’s okay. There’s more to marriage than sex. As long as she’s dedicated to me, I don’t mind.”

The rapper added that he believes emotional connection and mutual understanding matter more than physical exclusivity in a marriage.

“It’ll be hard for a random person to match what I’ve built with her — emotionally, mentally, and even in how I make her laugh,” he continued. “If I ever get married, I’ll need two rooms. My wife and I will only meet when we want to be intimate.”

Blaqbonez’s comments have sparked debate online, with many weighing in on his unconventional stance toward relationships and marriage.
