Popular TikToker Reflects on His Time Behind Bars After Regaining Freedom

Nigerian content creator and livestream personality Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has opened up about the difficult experience he endured after spending nearly four days in police custody, describing the incident as one of the toughest moments of his life.

The social media star made the revelation shortly after regaining his freedom, sharing details of his detention with followers on Snapchat. According to Gossip News Now, Peller admitted that the ordeal has left him determined to avoid situations that could lead to similar experiences in the future.

Arrest Followed Traffic-Related Incident in Lagos

Gossip News Now recalls that Peller was arrested in the Lekki area of Lagos State after an encounter with police officers involving a tinted vehicle that reportedly had no registration number plate.

He and his associate, Bello Oladipo, were subsequently arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court over allegations of obstructing police officers while they carried out their official duties.

Following the court proceedings, both defendants secured their release after meeting the bail conditions set at ₦500,000.

TikToker Describes Difficult Conditions in Detention

Reflecting on the period he spent in custody, Peller disclosed that the experience took a physical and emotional toll on him.

He explained, in essence, that he left detention feeling noticeably different, adding that he had never imagined he would one day spend several nights in a police cell. According to him, he went without food and was unable to bathe throughout the period of his detention, making the experience especially challenging.

The TikToker admitted that the incident was unlike anything he had previously encountered.

Recognition Inside the Cell Came as a Surprise

Despite the difficult circumstances, Peller revealed that some of the inmates recognized him because of his popularity on social media.

He recounted that fellow detainees playfully addressed him with the nickname “001,” creating one of the few light-hearted moments during his stay in custody.

Although he appreciated the recognition, he maintained that the overall experience was one he would rather never repeat.

Wedding Plans Now His Main Priority

Looking ahead, Peller said the incident has reshaped his mindset and encouraged him to be more careful in his daily activities.

He emphasized that his upcoming wedding has become his major focus and suggested that he intends to live more cautiously going forward. The TikToker also hinted at future plans beyond Nigeria after his marriage, indicating that he wants to concentrate on building a peaceful life away from unnecessary controversies.

Analysis: Experience Highlights Challenges Facing Public Figures

Peller’s account has generated widespread reactions online, with many social media users expressing sympathy while others debated the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

The incident also highlights how encounters with law enforcement can become defining moments for public figures, particularly those with large online audiences. For Peller, the experience appears to have served as a personal wake-up call, reinforcing the importance of staying out of legal trouble while focusing on future personal and professional goals.
