  • He says he does not promote his music through gimmicks or unnecessary publicity.
  • Fireboy also recalled being frightened by some of what he encountered after relocating to Lagos to pursue his music career.

Why Fireboy Keeps His Private Life Away From the Public

Fireboy made the remarks while interacting with fans about his personality, public image and approach to his music career.

According to the singer, maintaining a distance between his personal life and the public has made it difficult for people to form opinions about him based on private matters.

He suggested that he intentionally gives the public limited information about his personality and personal experiences.

Fireboy said:

“They don’t know me enough to misunderstand me. I don’t give them enough personality or gist into my personal life.”

His comments point to a deliberate approach to managing his public image, with the singer appearing to place greater emphasis on his music than on personal publicity.

Fireboy on Scandals, Other Artistes and Music Promotion

Fireboy also addressed the absence of scandals around his public image and his relationship with other artistes.

He said he does not have scandals and does not relate with other artistes in a way that would become a source of public controversy.

The singer further explained that he does not believe his music should depend on publicity stunts or gimmicks to attract attention.

In his words:

“I don’t have scandals, I don’t relate with other artistes, I don’t sell my music with gimmicks.”

For Fireboy, the comments suggest that his preferred approach is to allow his songs and artistry to remain at the centre of his career rather than making his private life part of his music promotion.

Fireboy Also Recalls His Early Lagos Experience

Away from his comments about privacy and publicity, Fireboy has also recalled what frightened him when he relocated to Lagos to pursue his dream of becoming a musician.

The singer said he was terrified by some of what he encountered after arriving in the city.

During a recent live stream, Fireboy recalled witnessing someone running mad and seeing dead bodies on the streets.

He also said the presence of cultists and the appearance of Lagosians generally contributed to his fears at the time.

Despite those experiences, Fireboy said he did not abandon his ambition.

Instead, he remained in Lagos and eventually adapted to the city’s lifestyle as he continued pursuing his music career.

What Fireboy’s Comments Reveal About His Public Image

Fireboy’s remarks present a picture of an artiste who prefers to keep a clear boundary between his professional career and his personal life.

Rather than making private experiences a major part of his public identity, he says he gives the public limited access to that side of his life.

His comments about avoiding scandals and promotional gimmicks similarly underline his preference for keeping the focus on his music and artistry.

At the same time, his recollection of his early Lagos experience offers a glimpse into some of the challenges he says he encountered while pursuing his musical ambitions.

For Fireboy, keeping his personal life private while allowing his music to remain at the centre of his public identity appears to be an important part of how he approaches his career.
