Senator Ned Nwoko has stated that his wife, Regina Daniels, must undergo rehabilitation to protect her life and ensure she is mentally fit to care for their children.

Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Sunday, Nwoko cited a series of “alarming toxicology results” and what he described as a sudden change in Regina’s behaviour as reasons for insisting on rehabilitation.

“I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children. We have two young kids together, and they cannot fight for themselves, and I’m going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother,” he said.

The senator revealed that he had taken Regina to Nizamiye Hospital on three occasions following alleged drug overdoses.

“I have lived with this problem for eight months. On three occasions, I had to carry her to Nizamiye Hospital unconscious from a drug overdose, and you can verify it,” he added.

Nwoko presented toxicology results to support his concerns about substance abuse and warned that anyone discouraging her from seeking proper rehabilitation was acting against the interests of both mother and children.

He dismissed recent social media denials by Regina’s mother and siblings as “baseless distractions,” adding:

“Everybody needs to calm down and join hands to save her, but she and her mother are living in denial. If they really want to prove me wrong, they can arrange for her to visit any toxicologist of their choice. I will pay.”

Addressing questions about the source of Regina’s drug use, Nwoko accused some of her siblings and their friends of negative influence:

“Her brother, Sammy, and his friends have exploited her resources to supply her with drugs, leaving her addicted. Each time she made progress, the same circle smuggled in substances she was trying to quit.”

The senator also refuted a claim by Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, that one of his sons had died in the UK from a drug overdose, describing it as “an inhuman attack” and insisting that no autopsy linked the death to drugs.

The marital dispute became public after Regina accused Nwoko of physical assault and announced she no longer wished to continue the marriage. Nwoko denies the allegation, attributing her recent conduct to substance abuse and stressing the need for medical intervention.
