Real Madrid face a fresh setback after goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was ruled out with an injury to his adductor longus muscle.
The Belgian, who played in Sunday’s 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano, will miss forthcoming matches for both club and national team.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on X that: “Thibaut Courtois has suffered an adductor longus injury in his leg. Real Madrid’s medical staff will monitor him during the international break, and he will miss Belgium’s upcoming fixtures.”
The 33-year-old’s injury comes after a season already hampered by physical setbacks. Real Madrid’s medical team will closely oversee his recovery, with updates expected following further tests, as fans of both Los Blancos and Belgium hope for a smooth return.
Meanwhile, in the English Premier League, Aston Villa have secured the future of midfielder Morgan Rogers, extending his contract until June 2031. The new deal also comes with an improved salary package.
Romano confirmed on X: “Morgan Rogers signs a new contract with Aston Villa, running until June 2031, including improved wages for the English winger who agreed to the new terms.”
Rogers shared his excitement about the extension, stating: “This is a huge step for me, and I’m thrilled to commit my future to a club that has shown so much confidence in me.”
