Members of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Eme Okoro and former Abia State Housing Commissioner James Okpara, have affirmed that Adolphus Wabara remains the legitimate chairman of the party’s BoT.

Gossip News Now reports that while addressing journalists over claims of Wabara’s removal, Okoro stated that anyone who disagrees with the party’s majority decisions should seek other platforms instead of staying to undermine the party that gave them a political home.

He rejected the purported appointment of former Abia North Senator Mao Ohuabunwa as the new BoT chairman.

The former Abia State Secretary to the Government criticized what he described as impunity and violation of the PDP constitution, saying it was unlawful to hold an inauguration for a new BoT chairman in the private home of a party member.

Okoro also dismissed the supposed replacement of Umar Damagum, highlighting the role of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike in fueling the internal party dispute.

Similarly, Okpara insisted that Wabara’s removal as BoT chairman is invalid and rejected the dismissal of Umar Damagum as National Chairman of the PDP.

He condemned those opposing the upcoming national convention, calling their actions illegal, unpatriotic, and harmful to the party’s continuity.

Okpara stressed, “The national convention is the soul of our party. It is where critical decisions shaping our political future are made. Anyone who claims to love the PDP but secretly or openly works to halt the convention does not have the party’s best interests at heart.”
