Football supporters worldwide now have the chance to vote for the 2025 FIFA Puskás Award, which honours the most extraordinary goal of the year. This year’s shortlist features 11 stunning strikes from players across the globe.
The award, named in memory of Hungarian legend Ferenc Puskás, recognises exceptional skill and artistry in finishing.
The nominated goals were scored between 11 August 2024 and 2 August 2025. This year’s competition is particularly competitive, showcasing a mix of established stars, emerging talents, and unexpected heroes.
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice earned a nomination for a sensational free-kick against Real Madrid in April. Already having scored a remarkable goal earlier in the match, Rice bent another unstoppable strike past Thibaut Courtois as Arsenal secured a 3–0 Champions League victory.
Seventeen-year-old Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal is also on the list. His left-footed curler against Espanyol in May not only dazzled fans but also helped the Catalans clinch a 2–0 win and secure the La Liga title.
Other standout nominees include Alerrandro, whose acrobatic overhead volley for Vitoria against Cruzeiro captured worldwide attention; Alessandro Deiola of Cagliari, who finished off a flowing team move against Venezia with a perfect strike; and Pedro de la Vega, who netted a first-time volley in Seattle Sounders’ 7–0 rout of Cruz Azul.
Argentina’s Santiago Montiel makes the shortlist after an audacious overhead kick for Independiente, while Egypt’s Amr Nasser scored a bicycle kick that powered Pharco to a shock victory over Al Ahly.
Completing the nominees are Carlos Orrantia (Atlas), Lucas Ribeiro (Mamelodi Sundowns), Kevin Rodrigues (Kasimpasa), and Rizky Ridho (Persija Jakarta), each producing unforgettable goals that thrilled fans worldwide.
Voting is now open on FIFA’s official website. The winner will be announced at the FIFA Best Awards later this year, joining the ranks of past recipients including Lionel Messi, Son Heung-min, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
