Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has refuted claims suggesting he dropped his lawsuit against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and allowed the Ibadan National Convention to proceed.

Lamido stressed that the court has ruled in his favor, confirming that the convention cannot move forward because he was unfairly denied the opportunity to contest the PDP National Chairmanship.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, Lamido also dismissed reports that he met with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to resolve the matter.

He explained that after the false news circulated, he received numerous calls from PDP members nationwide, but urged the public to ignore the misinformation.

“The story attributed to me is completely false. Today at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Federal High Court delivered a judgment affirming my right to contest for the PDP Chairmanship, which had been previously denied,” Lamido said.

He further noted that the court injunction preventing the November 15–16 Ibadan convention is still in effect, and both the PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have been formally notified.

“Certified copies of the order halting the Ibadan Convention have already been served on INEC and the PDP,” he added.

Lamido condemned the false narrative as malicious and misleading, reiterating his commitment to defending his legal rights within the party.
