Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) elected at the Ibadan National Convention, has announced that his faction will hold its first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Tuesday at the PDP National Secretariat in Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

Turaki made the announcement after submitting a petition at the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Garki against the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and others, whom he accused of being “saboteurs.”

He assured that nothing would prevent him and his colleagues from convening their meeting at Wadata Plaza.

The PDP chairman added that he had informed the Commissioner of Police in advance to guarantee the safety and security of all participants.

“We came here to interface with the Commissioner of Police regarding our inaugural NEC meeting, which will include our governors, members of the National Assembly, and founding fathers,” Turaki told journalists.

The declaration comes shortly after the PDP faction loyal to Nyesom Wike announced plans to hold its own Board of Trustees (BoT) and NEC meetings at the same date and venue.

Gossip News Now reports that the schedule for the BoT and NEC meetings was shared in a notice by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu.

According to the notice, the meetings will also take place at the PDP National Secretariat in Wadata Plaza, with attendance deemed crucial due to the sensitive matters slated for discussion.

This clash marks the latest development in the ongoing PDP crisis, with Nigerians closely watching how the situation will unfold.
