French striker Antoine Griezmann has been named the 2025 Golden Foot Award winner, adding another prestigious accolade to a stellar career.

The 34-year-old Atlético Madrid forward was officially announced as the recipient of this year’s award in Monaco on November 28. The Golden Foot honours exceptional players aged 28 and above for both their sporting achievements and personality. Unique to this award, it can only be won once, and winners leave a permanent imprint of their footprints on the Champions Promenade in Monaco.

Organisers celebrated Griezmann’s enduring impact on the game:
“@AntoGriezmann is the Golden Foot Winner 2025! From Real Sociedad to FC Barcelona and now shining with @Atleti, he continues to write football history. A World Cup champion, Nations League winner, and one of the most iconic players of his generation, his leadership, career, and legacy are being recognised today. Soon, his footprints will be featured on Monaco’s ‘Champions Promenade.’ Congratulations, Antoine!”

Griezmann claimed the 2025 Golden Foot ahead of a competitive field that included Kylian Mbappé, Kevin De Bruyne, Angel Di María, Emiliano Martínez, Achraf Hakimi, Ousmane Dembélé, Rodrigo De Paul, and Thibaut Courtois.

His award places him among a prestigious list of past winners, including Roberto Baggio (2003), Ronaldo Nazário (2006), Ronaldinho (2009), Francesco Totti (2010), Zlatan Ibrahimović (2012), Didier Drogba (2013), Cristiano Ronaldo (2020), Mohamed Salah (2021), and Lautaro Martínez (2024). The Golden Foot also recently introduced a women’s category, with Saki Kumagai becoming the first female winner.
