A senior figure within the African Democratic Congress in Adamawa State, Umar Jada, has announced his resignation from key leadership roles in the party.
Jada, widely known by the nickname “Calculate,” previously served as the party’s Assistant National Publicity Secretary while also overseeing communication duties for the North-East zone.
In a resignation letter dated December 1, 2025, the political communicator explained that the decision was influenced by pressing personal responsibilities that now require his full attention.
According to Gossip News Now, the former spokesperson clarified that stepping aside from his party roles would allow him to concentrate on other aspects of his life that currently demand greater commitment.
The letter, which was made public in Yola, stressed that the decision should not be interpreted as a political dispute or conflict within the party structure.
Jada described the move as difficult but necessary, noting that balancing his party duties with personal obligations had become increasingly challenging.
Throughout his message, he also reflected on his time working with party leaders and members across the country. The former spokesman expressed appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to the party’s communication strategy and public engagement efforts.
He further acknowledged the support he received from colleagues during his tenure, stating that the experience allowed him to play a role in strengthening the party’s visibility and political messaging.
While stepping down from his official responsibilities, Jada indicated that he still maintains respect for the party’s leadership and ideals.
Commentary and Analysis
Resignations within political parties are not uncommon, especially when individuals face competing professional, personal, or political commitments. In many cases, such departures reflect organisational restructuring or personal career adjustments rather than internal conflict.
Observers note that communication roles within political parties can be particularly demanding, as they require constant engagement with the media, party members, and the public.
Although Jada’s resignation was described as personal, developments like this often attract attention due to the evolving political landscape ahead of future elections. For parties such as the ADC, maintaining strong organisational structures and consistent messaging will remain important as political alliances and strategies continue to develop nationwide.
