An Adamawa State leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and ally of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Umar Jada, has officially resigned from the party.

Gossip News Now reports that Jada, also known by his nickname “Calculate,” stepped down from his roles as Assistant National Publicity Secretary and North-East Publicity Secretary of the ADC.

In a resignation letter dated December 1, 2025, made public on Tuesday in Yola, Jada explained that his decision was driven by personal commitments requiring his full attention.

“I have taken this difficult decision to refocus on other critical life commitments. I hereby formally tender my resignation as Assistant National Publicity Secretary and Zonal Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), effective immediately,” he stated.

He emphasized that the decision was purely personal, reflecting on his current responsibilities and the direction he needs to take at this stage of his life.

“Stepping down is a challenging but necessary choice to allow me to address pressing personal matters that demand my full attention,” Jada added.

Expressing gratitude to the party, he said:

“I remain deeply thankful for the trust and support extended to me throughout my tenure. It has been an honour to contribute to the growth, visibility, and strengthening of our great party. I cherish the experiences, teamwork, and ideals we collectively uphold in pursuit of a more democratic Nigeria.”

He assured that he will continue to respect the party leadership and uphold the ADC’s values in any way possible in the future.

“Please be assured of my continued respect for the party’s leadership and my unwavering goodwill towards the ADC. I remain committed to supporting the party’s aspirations within the limits of my circumstances,” he concluded.
