Big Brother Naija star, Emuobonuvie “Neo” Akpofure, has opened up about a life-changing encounter with award-winning music executive Don Jazzy that took place a decade ago.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Neo revealed he was randomly chosen as the winner of an MTV Base trivia competition tagged “A Day with Don Jazzy.” The prize was an all-expense-paid trip with Don Jazzy and the Mavin crew to South Africa for an award show.

However, Neo said he could not travel at the time because of his university exams at the University of Calabar. Instead, he was flown to Lagos, where he met Don Jazzy in person and received a ₦500,000 cash compensation.

According to Neo, that single moment sparked a shift in his mindset and made him believe he could achieve anything he set his mind to.

“Destiny may know my name, but grace has never failed to find me in moments of doubt and uncertainty,” Neo wrote.

“Ten years ago, I was randomly selected out of thousands as the winner of the MTV Base ‘A Day with Don Jazzy’ trivia. I spent just ₦60 answering questions about Don Jazzy, not knowing those few clicks would open a door I never imagined.

Although I couldn’t attend the trip to South Africa because of my exams, God still showed up for me. I was flown to Lagos to meet Don Jazzy and given ₦500,000. That encounter changed my life. It reignited a fire in me that no circumstance could put out.”

Reflecting on the experience, Neo expressed deep gratitude to Don Jazzy for unknowingly re-inspiring his dreams, and to God for keeping every promise made to him.
