Movie producer and social commentator Stanley Ontop has been arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Delta State.

Reports indicate that Ontop was taken into custody on Tuesday, December 9. The exact reason for his arrest remains unclear, but LIB reports suggest it followed a petition filed by Nollywood actress Queeneth Hilbeth, the contents of which have not been made public.

Gossip News Now notes that the arrest comes amid a long-standing public feud between Ontop and Hilbeth. The dispute reportedly began over allegations involving fellow actress Destiny Etiko. Hilbeth accused Etiko of “snatching” a man she had been in a relationship with for five years.

Ontop, however, claimed the man was married and stated that after financially assisting Etiko during a personal challenge, Hilbeth accused her of wrongdoing.

The conflict escalated as Ontop made serious public allegations against Hilbeth, including claims of drug use and other inappropriate behaviour. In response, Hilbeth shared a medical report on her Instagram story to refute the drug allegations, though Ontop questioned its authenticity.

Hilbeth has also faced a ₦100 million defamation lawsuit from Destiny Etiko and previously described police attempts to arrest her at Etiko’s request as unlawful.
