Ace Nigerian comedian Afamefuna Klint Igwemba, popularly known as Klint Da Drunk, has revealed how legendary singer Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face or 2Baba, influenced his decision to abandon his music career.

Speaking in a recent interview with Naija FM Lagos, Klint explained that he originally pursued music while studying at the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu. However, everything changed after he witnessed 2Baba perform at a campus event.

According to Klint Da Drunk, the performance was so impressive that he immediately knew music wasn’t his path. Despite organisers urging him to stay and perform after 2Baba’s set, he walked away from the hall and decided to quit music entirely.

He said:
“I used to be a musician until 2Face got admitted to my school, IMT. One day, he got on stage to perform at an event on campus. After hearing just two lines, I left. The organisers begged me to wait and perform later, but I went home. I didn’t know our styles were different. If I had known, I would’ve continued. But thank God I didn’t. I like where I am.”

Klint Da Drunk, who once featured in Mr Raw’s hit track “Obodo” and co-founded a music group with the rapper, eventually shifted his full focus to comedy. Their group went on to place second in the 2002 Star Quest talent show, losing to KC Presh.

Today, Klint has built a highly successful comedy career and has appeared in numerous Nollywood films, including “Men On The Run,” “Madam 10/10,” “Fast Cash,” and “Lost Kingdom.”
