Former Big Brother Naija housemate Queen Mercy Atang has shared a frightening experience after her family narrowly escaped death when the POP ceiling in her sitting room suddenly collapsed.

Gossip News Now reports that Queen Mercy revealed the incident in a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday. She explained that she returned home around 4 a.m. after an all-night shoot for her friend’s Guinness World Record project when the incident occurred.

According to the reality TV star, her younger sister and nanny usually sleep in the sitting room after sewing late into the night. However, what she described as divine intervention prevented them from lying down there on that day. Instead, they were still awake when the POP ceiling collapsed, giving them just enough time to run for their lives.

Queen Mercy disclosed that the incident was the second in recent weeks, following an earlier collapse of the POP ceiling in her car garage.

Sharing her ordeal, she wrote: “God said, not this family. I worked late into the night and got home around 4 a.m. My kid sister was still sewing, and my workers were meant to sleep in the sitting room and leave in the morning. Thankfully, my sister and nanny were still awake when the POP ceiling fell. They literally had to run for their lives.”

She added that she was trying to get a few hours of rest when her mother rushed in to inform her of the incident. “The first thing I asked was where my sister and nanny were. When she said they were upstairs, my blood pressure came down immediately,” she said.

Queen Mercy further revealed that she is currently juggling family safety concerns with preparations for her friend’s Guinness World Record project, which kicks off this Friday. Expressing gratitude, she thanked God for His protection, saying she remains thankful for the preservation of her family’s lives.
