The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, has confirmed that all rewards promised to Nigeria’s senior national teams have been fully approved and are set for release.

Speaking on Friday during an interview with Arise Television, Dikko revealed that the Super Falcons and D’Tigress will be honoured for their recent continental successes, while the Super Eagles will be recognised for finishing as runners-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The incentive package includes houses, plots of land, national honours, and financial rewards, all of which have received presidential approval.

“I can tell you Mr President has already approved the houses and the land for the Super Eagles, the National Awards, and the monies for the Super Falcons. All that has been processed,” Dikko said.

He reassured Nigerians that the housing component is no longer a promise on paper, explaining that the necessary documentation is already in his custody.

“As I speak, I have in my possession all the Certificates of Occupancy for the houses of the players in Lagos and Abuja for the Super Eagles, Super Falcons, and D’Tigress,” he added.

Dikko also confirmed that the national honours have been concluded, and the payment of financial incentives is in its final stage.

“I have all the certificates for the National Awards. The money has been processed and is currently at the payment point at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation,” he noted.
