Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua delivered a dominant performance on Saturday, stopping YouTuber‑turned-boxer Jake Paul with a sixth‑round knockout in their highly anticipated heavyweight clash in Miami.
Despite Paul exceeding expectations by lasting into the later rounds, Joshua’s superior power, experience, and composure proved decisive. The British fighter floored Paul twice during a dramatic fifth round, setting the stage for the finish.
Joshua sealed the victory in the sixth round, landing a relentless series of punches that left Paul unable to continue, prompting the referee to stop the contest.
After the win, Joshua immediately called out longtime rival Tyson Fury, saying, “Put down (your) Twitter fingers and put on some gloves and come and fight me.”
Paul later revealed he suffered a broken jaw during the bout. He did not name a next opponent and confirmed he would take a brief break from boxing following the defeat, the second loss of his professional career.
Currently ranked No. 14 in the WBA cruiserweight division, Paul has previously enjoyed high-profile victories, including back-to-back wins over former world champions. He notably defeated 58-year-old Mike Tyson in November 2024 and outpointed 39-year-old Julio Cesar Chávez Jr. in June 2025.
