A senator representing Rivers East, Allwell Onyesoh, has declared that efforts are already being made to convince the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to exit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and align with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Onyesoh, who recently dumped the PDP for the APC, revealed that he and several political allies are determined to personally approach Wike in a bid to move him out of the opposition party. He insisted that the PDP no longer values the former Rivers State governor and has continued to undermine his contributions.

The lawmaker made the remarks in a video circulating on social media, stressing that Wike should not be allowed to remain in a party that, according to him, has failed to recognize his sacrifices and achievements.

He accused the PDP of attempting to frustrate the minister politically, adding that he and his associates would resist any effort to diminish Wike’s influence or stall his work.

Onyesoh described Wike as his political leader and expressed gratitude for the role the former governor played in his emergence as a senator. He said Wike’s support was instrumental in helping him fulfill his long-standing ambition to serve his people.

He further stated that persistent pressure would be mounted on Wike until he leaves the PDP, insisting that the party has exhausted whatever benefits it derived from his leadership and influence.

According to the senator, the PDP is currently in deep crisis and lacks the capacity to recover, noting that internal divisions continue to weaken the party rather than strengthen it.

Onyesoh concluded by saying that the PDP has lost its footing and appears incapable of rebuilding itself, as new internal conflicts keep emerging where old ones ended.
