The exchange rate between the United States Dollar (USD) and the Nigerian Naira (NGN) continues to attract attention, especially within the black market, commonly referred to as the parallel market or Aboki FX.

Black Market (Parallel Market) Dollar to Naira Rate

As of Thursday, December 25, 2025, traders at the Lagos parallel market exchanged the dollar at varying rates depending on buying or selling positions.

According to information obtained from Bureau De Change (BDC) operators, the dollar was sold at ₦1,475 and purchased at ₦1,467.

This means individuals looking to exchange dollars for naira or vice versa should expect slight variations depending on location and demand.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has consistently stated that it does not recognize or regulate the black market. The apex bank advises Nigerians seeking foreign exchange transactions to carry them out strictly through authorized financial institutions such as commercial banks.

According to official figures from the Central Bank of Nigeria:

  • Lowest Rate: ₦1,435
