Controversial Nigerian actor Uche Maduagwu has publicly appealed to music superstar Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, after admitting that he deliberately attacked them online for financial gain.

The actor made the revelation in an emotional video shared on his Instagram page, where he confessed that he was paid ₦2.5 million to post damaging content about the celebrity couple.

According to Uche, the online attacks were not personal but part of a coordinated campaign involving multiple influencers. He claimed that at least four other Nigerian influencers were allegedly paid to criticise Davido and his family on social media.

He stressed that, contrary to the narratives he helped spread, Davido had done nothing wrong to deserve such treatment.

Visibly remorseful, Uche admitted his actions were driven by greed and poor judgment, adding that he deeply regrets participating in the smear campaign.

He went further to call on other influencers who received money to attack the singer to publicly admit their involvement and refund the payments they collected.

“I was paid to ridicule your wife and your family,” Uche said. “I’m not the only one. About five of us were paid to do this. Davido has done nothing wrong. I’m begging for forgiveness and urging others to return the money they were paid.”

In the caption accompanying the video, Uche expressed deep emotional distress, stating that most of the negative commentary circulating online about Davido and Chioma was sponsored.

He pleaded with fans to help him appeal to Davido for forgiveness, insisting that he is ready to take responsibility for his actions.
