Tinubu Is My Political Mentor I’m Gaining Experience From Him — APC Chairman Yilwatda

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, has openly described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as his political mentor, saying the Nigerian leader has played a key role in shaping his understanding of politics.

Yilwatda made the remarks on Saturday shortly after receiving a traditional title in Plateau State. He was honoured with the title “Kaeh-rit,” which translates to “the good seed of Ampang East,” in recognition of his contributions to the community.

Speaking at the event, the APC chairman praised Tinubu’s political experience, describing him as one of the finest political leaders Nigeria has produced. He revealed that the President has taken him under his wing, allowing him to learn directly from his wealth of political knowledge.

“I am learning from Asiwaju Tinubu, one of the greatest politicians in this country,” Yilwatda said. “Since he embraced me as a son, I have gained valuable lessons from him. Whatever progress people see in me today is because I am learning from the very best.”

He added that his ambition is to replicate Tinubu’s political achievements through dedication and continuous learning, noting that mentorship plays a vital role in leadership development.

Yilwatda also expressed optimism over the recent political realignment involving Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, stating that the governor’s move to the APC would bring positive outcomes for the state.

He reiterated the APC’s commitment to inclusiveness, stressing that every party member enjoys equal status and opportunities regardless of background or political history.

Meanwhile, the APC chairman has continued to receive traditional recognition across the country. He was recently honoured by the Tiv Nation in Benue State, which conferred a traditional title on him in appreciation of his humanitarian efforts.
