Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has singled out Nigeria and Sudan as the teams that have impressed him most during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Speaking on a recent episode of Global Football Insights, Oliseh highlighted the determination and fighting spirit displayed by both nations as the tournament progresses.
“The Super Eagles are, of course, the team I fully support and they have impressed me greatly,” Oliseh said. “But another team that has really caught my attention is Sudan. This is a nation currently facing civil unrest, yet these players show incredible resilience and recently managed to secure a vital victory. That speaks volumes about their character and principle.”
Nigeria has been one of the most consistent sides in the group stage and has already secured a place in the Round of 16. They will conclude their Group C campaign against Uganda today, December 30, with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
Sudan, meanwhile, sits third in Group E with three points from two games. Their fate will be determined in their final group match against Burkina Faso on Wednesday, a decisive fixture for their progression hopes.
