The Janaza (funeral) prayer for Sina Ghami and Abdul Latif “Latz” Ayodele, close friends and team members of British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua, has been scheduled for Sunday, January 4, 2026, in London.
According to Boxing King Media, the service will be held at the London Central Mosque, 146 Park Road, London NW8 7RG, starting at 10 a.m.. The statement expressed heartfelt condolences: “Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones.”
Ghami and Ayodele, who played key roles in Joshua’s training—Ghami as his strength and conditioning coach and Ayodele as his personal trainer—were repatriated to the United Kingdom after a tragic road accident in Nigeria last December.
The fatal collision occurred on December 29, 2025, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, in the Makun area of Ogun State. Their vehicle, a Lexus SUV carrying Joshua and his team, collided with a stationary truck. Both Ghami and Ayodele died instantly, while Joshua survived with minor injuries.
The accident reverberated through the global boxing community, prompting an outpouring of tributes from athletes, fans, and sporting organizations worldwide.
The funeral in London is expected to attract members of the boxing fraternity, friends, and supporters, all coming together to honor and pay their last respects to Ghami and Ayodele.
