Former Rivers South-East senator Olaka Nwogu has weighed in on the lingering political tensions rocking Rivers State, blaming the crisis on the failure of political actors to uphold agreements and commitments.
Speaking during an appearance on a televised political programme, the former lawmaker argued that governance becomes difficult when leaders fail to stand by previously accepted terms.
According to Nwogu, the instability currently witnessed in Rivers State can be traced to disagreements surrounding political understandings that were earlier reached among stakeholders.

The former senator referenced an earlier peace arrangement reportedly facilitated by President Bola Tinubu, explaining that the understanding eventually collapsed after disagreements emerged over its implementation.
