The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially commenced early preparations for the 2027 general elections with the inauguration of its Transitional Committee and Membership Registration Committee in Borno State.
The inauguration, held on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Maiduguri, brought together party leaders and stakeholders from various parts of the state.
According to information gathered by Gossip News Now , the event had in attendance the ADC Deputy National Chairman (North-East), Babagana Buhari, who described the establishment of the committees as a vital move toward strengthening the party’s organisational structure ahead of the next election cycle.
The Transitional Committee will be chaired by Alhaji Ali Wurge, with Fali Wabulari appointed as secretary.
Likewise, the Membership Registration Committee will be headed by Peter Biye, while Kolo Bukar will serve as secretary.
Party representatives explained that both committees would collaborate closely to stabilise the party structure across the state, expand membership enrollment, and improve grassroots mobilisation efforts.
Several notable party leaders were also inaugurated during the event, including Kashim Imam Matawalle, Nicolas Msheliza, former Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly Bulama Fugu, Attom Magira, Umar Alkali Nasco, Umara Kumalia, Tijjani Amadu Yarwama, Fatima Zarah, Mohammad Ali Jajari, Hauwa Kwajafa, Bukar Kachallah, Sadiq Mamman Gadai, Lawan Kolomi, and Babakura Abba Yusuf.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kashim Imam Matawalle encouraged party members to maintain unity and determination as the ADC intensifies its preparations for the 2027 election cycle.
He emphasized that teamwork and dedication would be essential for the party to achieve significant electoral progress within the state.
Party officials noted that the formation of the committees is intended to reinforce internal structures, streamline membership registration activities, and enhance grassroots engagement ahead of the upcoming polls.
They added that the initiative reflects the ADC’s commitment to solidifying its influence in Borno State and positioning itself as a stronger political contender in future elections.
