A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has advised the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to maintain a strong and united political structure if it intends to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s administration effectively.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Eze urged the various factions within the ADC to remain cohesive, emphasizing that unity of purpose is essential for any party seeking national victory.

According to him, no political organization can succeed when internal divisions and rivalry weaken its foundation.

Eze also criticized the conduct and statements of the Obidient Movement, the political force aligned with former presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing some of its members of actions that undermine harmony within the ADC.

He reminded stakeholders that the founding mission of the ADC was centered on freeing Nigerians from what he described as governance failures, corruption, nepotism, and widespread poverty allegedly intensified under the Tinubu-led APC government.

Eze issued the statement in response to a viral message falsely attributed to former Rivers State Governor and influential ADC figure, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. The circulated message suggested that Amaechi was endorsing Peter Obi.

He dismissed the claim as fake, stating that Amaechi never made such comments.

He said:
“The statement crediting Amaechi with praising Peter Obi is a fabrication created by individuals driven by delusion and desperation, aimed solely at blackmailing and tarnishing the reputation of Amaechi and others.”

Eze condemned the tactic, calling it unacceptable and urging Peter Obi to rein in members of his movement who promote misinformation as a strategy to influence the party’s presidential ticket process.

He warned that such behavior would not help any aspirant secure the ADC nomination.

According to him, the ADC presidential ticket is still open to all eligible contenders, and the party will eventually determine its direction without pressure or manipulation.

He cautioned Obi and his supporters to avoid actions driven by desperation or personal interest, stressing that destabilizing the party would only hinder its chances in 2027.

“I appeal to my brother, Peter Obi, and his loyalists to remain calm, avoid desperation and blackmail, and refrain from rocking a boat that is on a patriotic mission,” Eze concluded.
