AFCON 2025 Semi-final: Super Eagles Face Morocco – Confirmed Starting XIs

All eyes in Rabat are on the line-ups as the Super Eagles of Nigeria take on hosts Morocco in a high-stakes AFCON 2025 semi-final kicking off at 9 p.m. (WAT) tonight.

Both coaches have opted for stability over experimentation, fielding trusted combinations. Nigeria set up in their familiar 4-3-1-2 formation, with Stanley Nwabali continuing in goal following another confident performance in the quarter-final.

Full-backs Bright Osayi-Samuel and Bruno Onyemaechi provide width and energy, while Semi Ajayi partners Calvin Bassey at the heart of the defence. Frank Onyeka anchors the midfield, allowing Raphael Onyedika and Alex Iwobi to control the tempo higher up. Ademola Lookman starts wide but has the freedom to drift inside, supporting captain Victor Osimhen, who leads the attack.

Morocco, meanwhile, line up in a disciplined 4-1-4-1 formation. Bono remains in goal behind a backline led by Achraf Hakimi, whose presence and leadership at right-back are central to the hosts’ strategy. Nayef Aguerd and Adam Masina form a solid central defence, complemented by Noussair Mazraoui at left-back.

In midfield, Neil El Aynaoui sits deep to protect the defence, while Brahim Diaz and Bilal El Khannouss push forward to create chances. Ismael Saibari and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli provide width and pace on the flanks, with Ayoub El Kaabi spearheading the attack.
