President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of prominent businessman and long-time political associate, Bature Abdulaziz, describing the loss as deeply felt.

In a statement issued Monday by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President said Abdulaziz’s impact reached far beyond the Kano business circle and extended condolences to his family and associates.

Tinubu reflected on the significant support he received from the late businessman during the 2023 presidential campaign and praised his dedication to national unity and patriotic values.

According to the statement:
“President Bola Tinubu is saddened by the passing of distinguished businessman and Kano business leader, Alhaji Bature Abdulaziz, who died over the weekend.

“The President noted that the deceased’s contributions to commerce made him a respected figure not only in Kano but in many regions across the country.

“Dr Bature Abdulaziz, who passed away in Kano, served as the National President of the Harmonised Traders Association of Nigeria and played leading roles in various trade unions.

“The President further recognized the unwavering support he received from Dr Abdulaziz during the 2023 electioneering period and acknowledged his continued commitment to peace and patriotism through the Patriotic Elders Network for Peace (PENP), an organisation he established.

“President Tinubu extends his condolences to the Kano business community, the people of Kano State, and the state government over this loss,” the statement said.

The statement also revealed that President Tinubu strongly condemned the tragic killing of a woman, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in the Chiranci area of Kano State.

He applauded the swift action of the Police in apprehending suspects linked to the crime and urged a thorough investigation followed by proper prosecution.

The statement continued:
“In addition, President Tinubu denounces the horrific murder of a housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in Chiranci community, Kano.

“He commended law enforcement authorities for promptly arresting the key suspects and instructed a full investigation and meticulous prosecution.

“The President described the act as inhumane and offered his condolences to the grieving family,” the statement concluded.
