Saidat Adeshina, mother of the late singer Adesina Afeez, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has denied any involvement in her son’s death and refuted claims that she cursed him.

Gossip News Now reports that in a video circulating online, she appealed to Nigerians for support and urged people to stop sharing unverified stories about her.

She described the messages suggesting she cursed or caused her son’s death as false and harmful.

“Whoever is sharing such a barbaric voice note claiming that I cursed my son or killed him, I pray that they experience what I am going through. I know nothing about my son’s death. Some people are deliberately trying to accuse me,” she said.

Saidat added: “Everyone who is cursing me on social media will suffer the same fate as me.”

Her elder daughter also dismissed the reports, calling them misleading and untrue.

The Ogun State Police confirmed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with Destiny Boy’s death. The case is now under investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department’s homicide unit. Authorities have yet to release the official cause of death.

Destiny Boy passed away on Sunday, January 18. He rose to prominence after a 2019 Fuji-style cover of Davido’s hit “If” went viral, which helped him gain a growing fan base and led to more covers of songs by Nigerian stars such as Tekno, 2Baba, 9ice, and Small Doctor.
