The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to tackle Nigeria’s security challenges, describing the issues as manageable.

Oba Ladoja made the remarks on Friday after a private meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Speaking to State House correspondents, the traditional ruler highlighted insecurity as the country’s most pressing challenge, particularly affecting farmers and rural communities.

“The major problem we face now is insecurity. Farmers struggle to access their farms, and the problem is spreading to the South. People are apprehensive about going to work or conducting daily activities. But I don’t think it is insurmountable. We believe the President is actively addressing it,” Oba Ladoja said.

The former Oyo State governor explained that his visit was also an opportunity to thank President Tinubu for his support since his coronation in September 2025.

“Since my coronation, I have been seeking a chance to express my gratitude to Mr. President for his support,” he added.

On Tinubu’s leadership style, the Olubadan praised the President’s achievements in transforming Lagos State, expressing optimism that similar results could be achieved nationally.

“If you know where he comes from, you understand that he knows what he is doing. He transformed Lagos from where it was to the progress it achieved during his tenure,” the monarch said.

Acknowledging the complexities of governing Nigeria, Oba Ladoja noted that economic improvements are underway and expressed hope for further progress by the end of Tinubu’s tenure in 2031.

“Nigeria is more complex than a state because not all citizens share the same priorities. States now have more resources than when we were governors, and they are able to meet their obligations. The economy is being fixed, and we hope that by 2031, Nigeria will be in a place we can all be proud of,” he added.
