The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reaffirmed that the party’s national convention scheduled for November 15 and 16, 2025, will proceed as planned — regardless of external interference or political pressure.

Speaking during the inauguration of the PDP National Convention Publicity and Communication Sub-Committee on Saturday in Abuja, Governor Mohammed vowed that no force, internal or external, would derail the opposition party’s plans or unity.

According to him, the PDP remains resilient, united, and determined to rebuild its strength ahead of the 2027 general elections, despite challenges and attempts to destabilize its structure.

“We have to really change the narrative. This is the party to be. We have been suffering a lot as a party, but we have been weathering the storm — and we will continue to do so,” he said.

“This convention is here to stay. We are going to Ibadan by the grace of God. No Jupiter will stop us. No dark forces will succeed over us. If they succeed over PDP, they have succeeded over Nigeria.”

Governor Mohammed emphasized that the PDP must reposition itself as the vehicle of national renewal, urging members to stay focused on offering Nigerians an alternative to what he described as years of misgovernance under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He stated that the party’s revival represents a crucial step toward “changing governance, changing the style of leadership, and restoring hope to Nigerians who are currently facing untold hardship.”

“We have never suffered as a country as we are suffering today under the APC. But we cannot just sit and lament. We must act within the democratic space to change the leader and change the nation,” he said.

Governor Mohammed also appealed to members of the publicity sub-committee to intensify enlightenment and sensitization efforts across the country, highlighting the PDP’s past achievements and its vision for a better Nigeria.

He concluded by reaffirming that the forthcoming convention would mark a turning point for the party, setting the stage for a united and revitalized PDP ahead of 2027.
