Erling Haaland of Manchester City and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah have both secured spots among the United Kingdom’s top 100 individual taxpayers, according to the latest Sunday Times Tax List.
The Norwegian striker, reportedly earning £500,000 per week with additional performance bonuses estimated at £10 million annually, ranks 72nd on the prestigious list. Haaland contributes roughly £16.9 million in taxes each year, reflecting his extraordinary earnings and impact on UK football.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah also features prominently, positioned 81st overall. The 33-year-old Egyptian reportedly takes home £400,000 weekly, alongside £10 million in annual bonuses, contributing approximately £14.5 million to UK tax revenues.
While footballers like Haaland and Salah dominate attention, the top tier of the list is largely filled by leading business figures. Fred and Peter Done and their family lead the rankings, paying £400.1 million in taxes from their gambling ventures. They are followed by trader Alex Gerko (£331.4 million), hedge fund manager Chris Rokos (£330 million), sportswear magnate Stephen Rubin and family (£325.6 million), and Denise, John, and Peter Coates, who collectively contributed £227.1 million.
