Veteran Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has shared a personal story about the challenges his family faced due to his public profile. Speaking during an interview with media personality Chude, the actor revealed that his daughter was once bullied in school simply because she was known as his child.
According to Udokwu, the incident happened while his daughter was a Junior Secondary School 1 student at Queens College in Lagos. At the time, some older students allegedly singled her out, treating her unfairly because of her father’s celebrity status.
The 58-year-old actor explained that he and his wife had deliberately chosen to enroll their children in public schools. Their intention, he said, was to give them a grounded upbringing and allow them to grow up like other Nigerian children, despite his fame in the entertainment industry.

He began his early education at St. Peter’s Primary School in Enugu before proceeding to Oraukwu Grammar School in Anambra State. His acting career took off in 1992 when he appeared in the groundbreaking film Living in Bondage, widely regarded as one of the productions that shaped modern Nollywood. Over the years, he has built a respected career in the industry and currently serves as a Special Assistant to the Anambra State governor on entertainment, tourism, and culture.
