Yoruba Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ashabi Simple has revealed that Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, took advantage of her when she was younger.
In an interview with Oyinmomo TV on YouTube, Ashabi spoke candidly about her past relationship with the Zeh Nation label boss, explaining that his promise of marriage played a key role in her decision to be with him.
The actress noted that meeting Portable positively impacted her career, describing him as caring despite his controversial public image. She also confirmed that he has ten children, with two of them being hers. Ashabi explained that their relationship ended because she wanted to test her independence and see if she could succeed on her own.
Speaking in Yoruba, Ashabi stated, “Portable chanced me, he saw me at my younger age and took advantage of it, and he used to be a caring person. Portable has 10 children at age 32 and mine is 2 out of them.”
When asked whether she would consider returning to Portable, Ashabi declined to give a definitive answer.
She also shared her reasoning for choosing a polygamous marriage, explaining that the nature of her career does not allow her sufficient time to dedicate exclusively to a husband.
