Following the 2026 Grammy Awards, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke publicly expressed encouragement to his nephew, Nigerian music superstar Davido, after the singer did not secure a win.

Despite the outcome, Davido, born David Adeleke, appeared reflective yet optimistic in the aftermath of the ceremony, sharing glimpses of the event with his followers.

On his 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account, the singer posted a short message in pidgin English, writing:
“Oluwa Dey my side,” which translates to “God is on my side.”

Governor Adeleke, a long-time supporter of his nephew’s musical journey, responded with words of affirmation:
“Proud of you always @davido.”

The singer warmly acknowledged his uncle’s encouragement, replying:
“Love u Excellency!!! We move ACCORDINGLY SIR.”

At the awards, Davido was nominated in the Best African Music Performance category for his collaboration “With You,” featuring Omah Lay. The category was ultimately won by South African artist Tyla, marking her second victory after previously claiming the award for “Water.”

Though he did not take home the Grammy, Davido maintained a positive outlook, drawing motivation from his faith, family support, and encouragement from fans and peers in the music industry.
