Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has come to the defense of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu after he criticised Abia State Governor Alex Otti for failing to initiate major development projects in the state.
Gossip News Now reports that Kalu alleged the current administration had merely repainted roads that were originally constructed during his tenure as governor.
Ogala took to social media to back Kalu, referring to him as her boss and affirming that his statements were accurate.
She noted that the roads Governor Otti has been showcasing were in fact built under Kalu’s administration.
Ogala stated, “What my boss, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, said about Governor Alex Otti is true. Alex Otti is only repainting roads that were originally built by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.”
In a related political development, former Abia State governors Orji Uzor Kalu and Theodore Orji held a strategic meeting in Umuahia, focusing on efforts to regain influence and challenge Governor Otti ahead of the 2027 general election.
During the meeting on Friday, Kalu explained that it convened political actors who had governed or held office in Abia State between 2009 and 2023, with the aim of creating a unified political bloc.
The Abia North senator proposed expanding the group to include all former political officeholders from the same period, emphasizing that their combined experience and contributions to the state’s progress should not be overlooked.
According to Kalu, the coalition, referred to as ‘The Team,’ had played a vital role in shaping the state during their years in office.
He rejected suggestions that past administrations were irrelevant, stressing that governance is an ongoing and continuous process.
