Detectives from the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department have taken 10 people into custody over the death of former Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Ondo State, Bamidele Akingboye.
Those detained include his wife, four children, and five domestic aides.
A police source revealed that the latest arrests followed progress made through “scientific investigation techniques,” though specific details were not disclosed.
Family members of the deceased, speaking at the crime scene in an interview with Channels Television, expressed confidence that investigators will conduct a thorough and transparent probe.
Akingboye was discovered dead under unclear circumstances on September 3, 2025, with his body reportedly found in the backyard of his residence.
His first son, Samuel Akingboye, has urged authorities to pursue a full investigation to unravel the mystery behind his father’s death.
