The Obidient Movement has dismissed reports claiming it has endorsed Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, for a second term ahead of the November 8 governorship election.

In a statement released by its National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, the movement described the reports as fraudulent, unauthorized, and grossly misleading, clarifying that its support remains firmly with the Labour Party’s candidate, George Moghalu.

According to the statement:

“The Obidient Movement, a nationwide citizens’ platform committed to promoting good governance, transparency, and the vision of His Excellency Peter Obi for a new Nigeria, categorically disowns any reports suggesting that it has endorsed Prof. Chukwuma Soludo for a second term as Governor of Anambra State.”

Tanko further emphasized that the movement has not authorized, endorsed, or supported any candidate other than George Moghalu, who, he noted, was earlier endorsed by Peter Obi himself.

He urged the public to disregard any statements or publications suggesting otherwise, stressing that such claims were made without the movement’s consent.

“The Obidient Movement remains independent and guided by its mission to promote integrity, accountability, and people-centered leadership across Nigeria,” Tanko stated.

He also reaffirmed that the group’s earlier support for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election was rooted in his proven track record and commitment to national transformation.

“Anyone or group claiming to endorse another candidate is acting in a personal capacity and not on behalf of the Obidient Movement,” he concluded.
