The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is proactively managing the political uncertainties surrounding Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara. The party insists the situation is being handled internally, with careful engagement of key stakeholders to defuse impeachment threats against Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu.

APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda shared these insights during an interview with Trust TV on Sunday, noting that the party’s approach has already begun stabilizing the state’s political landscape.

“Are you still hearing anything about the impeachment of Governor Fubara?” Yilwatda asked rhetorically, highlighting that the party is actively engaging lawmakers and managing the issue as an internal matter.

He explained that the APC’s ability to navigate such challenges stems from its established internal conflict-resolution structures. “That is what makes the APC different from other political parties. We have several mechanisms for resolving our internal challenges,” he said.

Describing the party’s efforts in Rivers State, Yilwatda referred to the process as “self-healing,” aimed at restoring political stability and order in the oil-rich state.

“We have put in place mechanisms that allow the party to address problems and heal itself whenever challenges arise. This is exactly what we are doing in Rivers,” he said.

The APC chairman further emphasized that these measures are not only about resolving immediate issues but also about strengthening the party’s position to secure future electoral victories.

“We are stabilizing the political environment in Rivers State, consolidating our influence, and ensuring we create opportunities that will enable overwhelming victories in the state,” Yilwatda concluded.
