Governors under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held a closed-door meeting on Thursday night at the Council Chamber of the Kebbi State Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

According to reports, the meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, and focused on pressing national issues as well as internal matters affecting the ruling party.

Although the APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, was also in Kebbi State at the time, he did not participate in the meeting.

Channels Television reported on Friday that Dr. Yilwatda’s visit to the state included other official engagements, including the inauguration of the Tinubu Kauran Gwandu Movement for Continuity State Secretariat.

In a statement confirming his arrival in Kebbi, Yilwatda said:

“Over the next two days, APC governors will engage in closed-door sessions to deliberate on critical national and party matters. As a party, we remain committed to unity, good governance, and the vision of Renewed Hope for all Nigerians.”

The meeting comes at a time when the APC Governors’ Forum continues to grow, following the defection of several Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors to the ruling party.

This week, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah officially joined the APC, while Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, who also dumped the PDP, is reportedly set to join the ruling party soon.
