APC Reserves Special Membership Number for Gov. Yusuf Signals Readiness to Receive Him

The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has openly declared its readiness to welcome Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into its fold, expressing optimism that he will soon align with the party.

Reports indicate that Governor Yusuf officially exited the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Friday, although he has yet to publicly disclose his next political move.

Speaking with Daily Trust, the APC State Secretary, Ibrahim Zakari Sarina, confirmed that the party has extended an open invitation to the governor and his political supporters.

“He is warmly welcome. That is all we can say for now.

“Although he has not formally declared for the APC, we are hopeful that he will make that decision soon. Our doors remain wide open to receive him,” Sarina stated.

Sarina further described the governor’s departure from the NNPP as a significant development that could strengthen the APC, noting that Yusuf is reportedly being accompanied by a substantial number of elected officials and political appointees.

He revealed that the party had already taken proactive measures ahead of any possible defection by reserving a special electronic membership registration number for the governor.

“Our e-registration process is ongoing, and we have specifically set aside the 001 registration number for the governor. This is accurate. The number has been reserved for him in his Chiranci-Diso ward,” he confirmed.

According to Sarina, the APC’s preparations go beyond the governor alone, as the party is fully prepared to absorb his cabinet members, political allies, and supporters into its structure.
