The Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has reassured members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the party remains united despite growing speculation about a possible extension of tenure for its executive committees nationwide.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Hon. Oguwuike Nwachuku, in an interview with Leadership, Uzodimma emphasized that the APC remains committed to protecting the interests and aspirations of Nigerians at both state and national levels.
He explained that the issue of tenure extension would be addressed collectively and transparently when the time comes.
“As a responsible and responsive party, we believe in mutual dialogue. This issue will be deliberated on appropriately. Be rest assured, when we get to the bridge, we will cross it,” Uzodimma stated.
The governor further stressed that the APC operates as a “united family” that makes decisions in the best interest of its members and the nation.
According to him, the fate of the current executives will not be determined by speculation but through proper consultation and consensus within the party’s leadership.
Gossip News Now reports that Uzodimma’s comments come amid reports that the APC is considering extending the tenure of its National Working Committee (NWC) and other executives beyond 2027 — a move that has reportedly caused unease among some governors and stakeholders.
