The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has positioned itself as one of Nigeria’s most grassroots-driven and stable political parties, declaring a renewed focus on security, economic recovery, and regional influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement came from APGA National Vice Chairman for the South-East Zone, Augustine Ehiemere, in his New Year message to party members and Nigerians on January 2, 2026.
Ehiemere described the party as a key force in rescuing the South-East and Nigeria from insecurity, including terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities that have disrupted social and economic life in the region.
“Our mission is clear: to restore peace, security, and economic stability to Nigeria and the South-East,” Ehiemere said, assuring residents that effective strategies are already underway to tackle crime and safeguard livelihoods.
The APGA chieftain also contrasted the party’s unity with the internal conflicts affecting other political organizations, noting that APGA’s stability has strengthened its grassroots credibility.
“APGA remains the most trusted, healthiest, and grassroots-oriented party in the South-East because of your loyalty,” he stated.
Eyes on 2027: Reclaiming the South-East
Ehiemere praised Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his accomplishments under APGA’s leadership and expressed confidence that the party would expand its influence beyond Anambra State in the 2027 elections.
He emphasised that APGA is strategically positioned to take over Abia State and reclaim all South-East states, citing the party’s growing acceptance across the region.
“Under the leadership of our National Chairman, Sly Ezeokenwa, APGA will guide the party to victory as we aim to take over Abia and the entire South-East in 2027,” Ehiemere added, urging members to remain committed and united for the upcoming electoral contest.
