Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has updated his Instagram handle from @asakemusic to @MrMoney, further embracing one of his most popular monikers.
The sudden change, made without prior notice, was quickly spotted by his more than five million followers on the platform.
“Mr Money” has been closely associated with Asake since his breakout in 2020, following the release of the hit song “Mr Money.” The nickname gained even more prominence after his 2022 debut album, Mr. Money With The Vibe, which propelled him to global fame.
The move comes amid anticipation for his upcoming project titled “Money,” expected to be his first full-length album released under his independent label, Giran Republic, after exiting Olamide’s YBNL earlier in 2025.
His departure from the label stirred reactions across the industry. In July, entertainment lawyer Yemisi Falaye shed light on the split, stating that Asake rushed into his initial deal with YBNL out of excitement without proper legal consultation. She disclosed that even Olamide advised him to have the contract reviewed by a lawyer, but the artiste signed hastily.
With his new identity on social media and a fresh era of independence, fans are eagerly awaiting Asake’s next chapter as “Mr Money.”
