Ashabi Simple Explains Why She Reported Portable to the Police

Nollywood actress Ashabi Simple has revealed why she contacted law enforcement, leading to the arrest of singer Portable.

According to Gossip News Now , Portable was taken into custody after Ashabi — who shares a child with him — lodged a formal complaint with the police.

A video later circulated online showing the singer in handcuffs at a police station, appearing distressed.

Speaking about the events that triggered the incident, Ashabi explained that the issue began during the festive period when Portable confronted her and her family members in public.

She alleged that he threatened them with an axe and insisted that they surrender their phones.

Ashabi said the situation escalated when Portable hit her brother, causing his eye to swell shut, and also reportedly slapped her sister over an online comment he found offensive.

According to her, she fled the scene, but Portable later located her and confronted her again while holding an axe.

She claimed he placed a pot on the ground, poured water on her, and began saying things she couldn’t understand, leaving her frightened and confused.

Ashabi stated that the series of incidents made her genuinely fear for her safety and that of her family, prompting her to seek police assistance.
