Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy, has responded strongly to accusations that she ruined her own marriage after a follower confronted her on Instagram.

Gossip News Now reports that the follower accused Queen of failing to protect her home and claimed that people in the United States were calling her a prostitute, insisting she could never remain in a man’s house. The commenter added that they were tired of defending her and embarrassed by the outcome of her marriage.

Another follower stepped in, urging people to stop attacking someone who is clearly going through a difficult period.

Reacting to the comments, Queen refuted claims that anyone in the U.S. had labelled her negatively. She explained that her last visit to the United States was in 2017/2018—long before fame—when she stayed briefly with her aunt in Houston before travelling to Florida for a pageant.

According to her, she had no visibility at the time and questioned how anyone could claim to have seen her behaving inappropriately.

Queen admitted her family might be unhappy that she addressed the matter publicly, but she felt compelled to clear the misinformation. She noted that she has been repeatedly insulted since leaving the Big Brother Naija house, as though she committed a crime on the show.

Addressing claims that she posted her wedding photos to spite her baby daddy, Queen insisted she was only celebrating her big day like any excited bride.

She also dismissed accusations that her movie roles make her unsuitable for marriage, stating that she has acted in only a handful of films and none involved deep kissing or intense romantic scenes. She challenged anyone who believed otherwise to provide evidence.

Concluding her response, Queen said that being a “good girl” had never paid off for her, suggesting she is now focused on living her truth rather than meeting people’s unrealistic expectations.
