Popular Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as Blord, has officially trademarked the name “Ratel” and has taken legal steps against social media commentator VeryDarkMan over its continued use.

Blord disclosed the development on Instagram, where he cautioned VeryDarkMan against using the name without proper authorization.

According to Gossip News Now , “Ratel” is the label VeryDarkMan uses to describe his followers. However, Blord stated that the name is now legally registered as his business brand, meaning it can no longer be used freely by others.

The entrepreneur explained that he has instructed his legal representative to formally notify VeryDarkMan to stop using the trademarked name.

“I have directed my SAN to issue a cease-and-desist letter to VDM, ordering him to stop using my brand name ‘Ratel.’ Going forward, he must obtain my approval before using the name,” Blord wrote.

This action is the latest development in the ongoing online clash between the two public figures.

Their disagreement reportedly started in October 2025, when VeryDarkMan traveled to China to help Nigerian traders find more affordable products and supplier connections. During that trip, he accused Blord of alleged fraudulent business activities and inflating prices on modified electronic devices.

Tensions escalated further after reports emerged that VeryDarkMan submitted a petition to the police, requesting an investigation into Blord’s business operations.
